theremin for film, tv, video, & live performance
Dr. Robby Virus is a biochemist who has worked in some of the world’s foremost scientific
research institutes. He has also played theremin for the past eight years. After studying
with Lydia Kavina, the world’s foremost theremin virtuoso, he formed the band Project: Pimento,
which plays covers of 1960s lounge classics using the theremin as a lead instrument.
Project: Pimento has twice been nominated as “Best Lifestyle Band” by San Francisco’s SF Weekly
Music Awards. Robby played theremin on the soundtrack to the movie “Hellboy”, has been a
guest soloist with the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra, and appeared on TechTV with the maker
of his theremin, Bob Moog.
